About Us
Since 1937, Gibney’s has been at the heart of Malahide.
The Heart of Malahide
From humble beginnings as a local pub with an apple garden and piggery out back, we’ve grown into a place where stories are shared, memories are made, and history comes alive.
Malahide has changed a lot since then, from a quiet village to a bustling seaside destination. Through it all, we’ve stayed true to what matters most: great company, good drinks, and a warm welcome for all.
Stop by, explore our history, and raise a glass to the generations who’ve made Gibney’s what it is today.
You’re always part of the story here.

Our History
Since 1937, Gibney’s has been a part of Malahide’s story. What began as a small village pub with a backyard piggery has grown into a place where generations have gathered.
Founded by James Gibney, who brought his experience from Dublin’s licensed trade, the pub has evolved alongside Malahide while keeping its character intact. From the historic Well Room to the Caughoo Bar, every detail reflects our heritage.
Join us and be part of a tradition that’s stood the test of time.
